The 1st Quantum Science, Engineering and Technology (qSET) Conference took place in Canberra, Australia, on 8-11 April 2019.
The qSET Conference brought together leading experts and students in the fields of quantum science, engineering and technology to present their best research and share their knowledge, in the form of plenary talks, keynote talks, invited talks, posters and pre-conference workshops.
The conference covered a broad range of topics within quantum science and technology, including quantum computation, quantum communication, quantum control, quantum engineering, quantum sensing, quantum simulation and quantum navigation.
CQC²T keynote and plenary speakers included Centre Director, Prof Michelle Simmons who presented on Atomic qubits in silicon, and Deputy Director Prof Lloyd C. L. Hollenberg. Prof Howard Wiseman was also an invited speaker and presented on The Heisenberg limit for laser coherence.
CQC²T Chief Investigators played a large role in the organisation of the event and program. Dr Hidehiro Yonezawa, UNSW Canberra, was the Local Organising Committee Chair, and the International Organising Committee included Prof Michelle Simmons, UNSW Sydney, Prof Lloyd C.L. Hollenberg, University of Melbourne, Prof Ben Buchler and Prof Matthew James, ANU, and Prof Howard Wiseman, Griffith University.
