Dr Hidehiro Yonezawa
BE, ME, PhD Tokyo
Centre for Quantum Computation & Communication Technology
Tel: (02) 626 88704
Hidehiro completed his Bachelor of Engineering in 2001 and his Masters in 2004, before remaining at the University of Tokyo and completing his PhD in 2007. He was then employed at Tokyo firstly as a Research associate and then as Assistant Professor through until 2013.
In September 2013 he was appointed as a Senior Lecturer at UNSW Australia, Canberra campus. Dr Yonezawa’s research interests lie in quantum optics and quantum information, where he works on experimental realizations of quantum-enhanced protocols and measurements such as quantum teleportation, quantum-enhanced phase measurement, generation of Non-Gaussian quantum states and creation of Non-Gaussian quantum gates.
From 2005 to 2007, Hidehiro was awarded a Research Fellowship for Young Scientists from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. In 2009 he received the Incentive award from The Laser Society of Japan. Most recently, in 2014, Dr Yonezawa was awarded The Young Scientists’ Prize for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.
